(T) Kirkham 2006
What a wonderful rose this is, and it really does shine out like a beacon in the garden. Luminous salmon orange flowers that age to a warm pink give off a nice scent especially on a warm calm day. The blooms are produced constantly through to hard frost especially if you only lightly trim through the summer and leave the hard pruning until mid November, and then prune again properly at the end of February. The plant is a real powerhouse reaching between 3 and 4 feet in height but staying nicely tight in habit the stout stems are covered with large dark green leaves that have a slight gloss to them.
Released at The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2006 "Eloise" was so named for Paul and Tanya Byrne to remember the devastating loss of their still born daughter in March of 2004 the charity SANDS (stillbirth and neonatal death society) will benefit with a donation from every rose sold retail by C&K Jones. It was a great pleasure to have David Haig (a face you would recognise from stage and screen) to officially launch the rose at the show David is a patron of Sands and became involved with them when his own daughter was stillborn in 1996. A quality rose that will give years of pleasure and help a very worthwhile charity.
