 | Always Remember Me Do you remember PC Bill Barker? His name is synonymous with the Cumbrian floods of 2009 when he was swept away from a collapsing bridge in Workington when ensuring the safety of others. His family and the community will never forget the courage of a people’s hero. And in years to come, a new rose called “Always Remember Me�? will blossom in memory of PC Barker’s steadfast nature. Rosa Always Remember Me is grown by C&K Jones of Cheshire and sales of the rose will benefit the Air Rescue, an important charity nominated by PC Barker. The flowers of this hybrid tea are a soft peachy apricot, lightly scented and produced singly. Leaves are glossy and large and new growth is a bright copper red. Habit is upright. Rosa Always Remember Me is a medium growing plant reaching about 3 feet (100cms). Rose specialist Keith Jones made his decision to support selected charities, trusts and foundations in a very personal way. He did it with roses. Through his company, C&K Jones, he has dedicated more than a dozen “Charity�? roses, and in this way, every time a rose is sold the charity receives a donation. Keith Jones has been able to support many important charities, and at the same time has provided a wide range of wonderful, robust roses for gardens and rose lovers all over the UK. Air Rescue joins many, many other deserving causes and charities such as SANDS (Still Birth and Neonatal Deaths), The Rotherham Hospice, British Heart Foundation, CLIC Sargent, The Hansel Foundation, The Jubilee Sailing Trust and many more. | |
