|Our George (Kirrans)|
(M) Kirkham 2003
If you are looking for a rose that is distinctly different then try this one. The unusual breeding line used by Gordon Kirkham has produced a rose that sends flower spikes of up to 18 to 24 inches in length rather like a delphinium.
Flower colour varies from golden yellow in the heat of summertime to deep apricot orange early on in the season and towards autumn. The outstanding foliage sparkles with health giving an almost holly like effect covering the spreading branches densely and uniformly. The bush reaches an ultimate height of approximately 1.5-2ft and spreading a similar distance - but remember those distinctive flower spikes can add the same again.
Our George will benefit Ty Hafan. Tŷ Hafan offers comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families helping them make the most of the time they have left together. From diagnosis to bereavement and beyond it takes its support right into the heart of the family home. By purchasing this unique rose, you will help ensure this service remains completely free of charge to the families in Wales who need it.
This rose, named after miner George Thomas, who became one of the great Welshmen of the 20th century.
Ty Hafan is an important hospice caring for children with terminal illness. This unique rose will raise much needed funds to support their cause.
